Mapping Out Agile Product Management
Talk, by Mack Adams
Wednesday, June 22, 11:00 – 12:30 @ B 002
Agile change often starts with a strong emphasis on development processes & practices. However, once this element in the product development value chain has been optimized, the bottleneck often moves elsewhere in the system. One direction it regularly moves to is that of product management, which has the challenge of providing the conditions to keep an agile delivery team moving at a high speed.
To do so, the Product Management function, which extends beyond the ‘Product Owner’ role, needs to evolve and scale, particularly in complex & distributed organizations. A key challenge is putting into place solutions for Product Management that do not come exclusively from a development prespective.
More so, two important approaches can help to drive more collaborative Product Discovery and Planning – Agile Chartering and User Story Mapping. This talk will will look at what these are and provide guidance on putting them into action.
